Trail Air Cadets 75th Annual Ceremonial Review

On June 14th, the cadets of 531 City of Trail Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Cadets held their 75th Annual Ceremonial Review.
The Cadet Parade Commander for the ceremony was Warrant Officer Second Class Joachim Aquino and the Reviewing Officer was Major (Retired) Marika Szabo, a former Commanding Officer of 531 Squadron.
During the parade, Warrant Officer Second Class Carter Langman was presented with the Lord Strathcona Medal and Flight Sergeant Linnea Lawder was presented with Royal Canadian Legion Medal of Excellence.
After the parade, lunch was provided by the 531 Squadron Sponsoring Committee. At the lunch several cadets were presented with awards:
Top Rookie – Leading Air Cadet Jaxson Hildebrand
Top Cadet – Warrant Officer Second Class Carter Langman
Top Non – NCO – Leading Air Cadet Atharv Chaudhary
T.E.A.M. Spirit – Flight Sergeant Linnea Lawder
Top Corporal – Flight Corporal Matthew Morris
Dedication & Commitment – Flight Sergeant Brooke Hall
Top Second Year Cadet – Corporal Duncan Clarke
Most Improved Cadet – Leading Air Cadet Atharv Chaudhary
Marksmanship – Flight Sergeant Linnea Lawder
Cadets who completed their Training Levels were also recognized. Cadets who complete Levels three and four are eligible to receive three non-academic High School credits.
Several cadets were also promoted.
            Tyler Denny and Johnny Phillips were promoted to Sergeant
Kylan Moreau, Devin Allen, Liam Wong, Charlie Jaskiewicz, Ranto Rarivo, Parker Kemball and Duncan Clarke were promoted to Flight Corporal
            Ashton Palsson, Joey Gill and Lynnessa Gill were promoted to Corporal
            Jaxson Hilebrand was promoted to Leading Air Cadet
Other cadets were presented with Pins for competing in the Biathlon Competition, and Certificates for attending a Music Clinic and completing their Standard First Aid.
Also at the Annual Ceremonial Review, Isabelle Henderson became a member of the Canadian Armed Forces. OCdt Henderson, a former Warrant Officer First Class with 531 Squadron, is now the newest member of the adult staff for 531 Squadron. Lieutenant Commander Harris, the Area Elemental Advisor for the area, administered the swearing in ceremony of OCdt Henderson.
Over the summer several cadets from 531 will be attending summer training at Cadet Training Centres in Vernon and Comox. Two cadets will also be attending virtual courses.
The Trail Air Cadets will start their 76th Training Year on 16 September 2026.
Cadets are between the ages of 12 and 18 and new cadets can register for next year now by completing the online application at https://registration.cadets.gc.ca/get-started.html
Adults who would like to volunteer with the squadron are also welcome.
