House Fire at Caldera Subdivision
Rapid action by local firefighters prevented a house fire on July 3, 2017, from becoming a forest fire in the current hot, dry conditions. The Caldera subdivision home, surrounded by trees, is badly damaged, but the fire was contained. An eyewitness who saw the house burning said, "It looked like there wouldn't be anything left. The house seemed to be completely engulfed in flames, and the smoke was very black." However, when the flames were extinguished, the burnt hulk was still there, albeit with damage visible from the outside.
Firefighters on the scene were unable to identify the source or cause of the fire. No injuries have been reported at this time.
