As the Washington Street project progresses, vehicle traffic, pedestrians and bicycles must all adapt to temporary road closures.  Here’s the latest update on where you can go and when:

Washington Street is closed from First Avenue to Sixth Avenue.

On August 3 to August 6, Second Avenue is closed at Washington Street.

On August 4 and 5, Sixth Avenue will be closed at Washington Street and there will be no access to Upper Washington Street from Plewman Way or Washington Street.

On August 4 and 5, Fifth Avenue will be open to through traffic at Washington Street.

First, Third and Fourth Avenues will remain open to through traffic at Washington Street.

The City reminds pedestrians not to walk through the Emcon Lot, as it is a construction area and poses hazards.

The  CIty also reminds drivers to honour the one-way downhill rule on Spokane Street between First and Second Avenues, and between Planer and McLeod/Plewman. It’s better for everyone’s health, and possibly  your vehicle and your auto insurance coverage.
