Reel Adventures is getting into real television after inking a deal with a popular North American fishing show, The Dimestore Fisherman.

The show has been in existence since 1999 and has become very popular throughout Canada and the U.S., boasting a viewing audience of over 30 Million people.

“I have a film crew coming to town next week to shoot a fishing show and highlight the Nelson area,” said Mr. Reel Adventures himself, Kerry Reed.

“The contract is to film an episode of The Dimestore Fisherman on Kootenay Lake with Reel Adventures,” Reed added.

The Dimestore Fishermen
provides a focus on exposing great Canadian fishing destinations to an international viewing audience.

“The idea of the show is to highlight the community in which the episode is filmed, as well as obtaining some good fishing footage while on the boat.” Reed explained.

Each episode includes fishing footage, this time of the Reel Adventures crew on Kootenay Lake; an interview of a local spokesperson explaining the sights and sounds of the Heritage City; and a road map to help tourists find the picturesque town of Nelson in the West Kootenay.

The filming of The Dimestore Fisherman is the second international scoop for Nelson in the past couple of weeks.

Earlier this month a staff writer from the Los Angeles Times newspaper wrote an expose’ about the Heritage City that appeared in the travel section titled, “Nelson, Canada, in living color”.

The Dimestore Fisherman film crew arrives in Nelson Saturday, and will spend a week shooting footage on Kootenay Lake and in and around Nelson.

Some of the networks the show runs include Fox Sports Net., NBC, Shaw Cable, CBC Outdoor, Rogers Digital, Bell ExpressVu and The Sportsman Channel.
