The Kootenay Gallery of Art in Castlegar opens its 2017 Exhibition Schedule with two shows that explore migration and settlement through the perspective of East Asian Canadian artists who reference the West Kootenays. Plant Memory and High Muck a Muck both open March 3 at 7 p.m. and run until April 15.

The Rossland Council for Arts and Culture is proud to present the Mike Fahie Quartet.  It is a family affair as trombonist Mike Fahie travels from New York City to join his brother, Nelson bassist Rob Fahie along with two other outstanding Kootenay musicians, Doug Stephenson, guitar and Tony Ferraro, drums.

Rossland's Public Library will offer you a blind date to celebrate Valentine's Day.  As with other blind dates, you may fall in love forever, or recoil in distaste once you get to know it a bit better.  But you won't be able to judge the book by its cover, because the potential "dates" will be in plain brown wrappers -- with just a hint as to the contents:  a brief "lonely hearts" ad on the front.
