Sara’s adventure with water metering, so far DISCLAIMER: These musings are my own personal thoughts; they are NOT from the Rossland Water Stewardship Task Force, though being a member of it heavily influences the direction of my thoughts. * * * * * * * * * * Fifteen days ago we celebrated the installation of our water meter! Hooray! I looked at the meter today, and that look provoked some thoughts on the value of water.

Sensitive Habitat Inventory Mapping (SHIM) project: Columbia Basin Trust has awarded us funding to complete this project on Rossland’s watershed catchment areas, and the project is underway, headed by Jennifer Vogel. Introduction:

Under our previous City Council, Rossland went through an open process of public participation to build a “Strategic Sustainability Plan” (SSP) and a new Official Community Plan based on the SSP. A “Sustainability Commission” was formed to move the SSP forward.
