The Rossland Auxiliary to the Fraternal Order of Eagles #10 was chartered on July 6, 1946.

Our purpose is to aid the patriotic and humanitarian plans of the F.O.E.  As stated on the windows of the Rossland Eagles’ building on Columbia Avenue, we are “People Helping People”.

To this end, our Auxiliary runs a hamburger booth during three annual community events, hosts a Fall and/or Spring Tea, contributes to a Mother’s Day basket each year, as well as, to the West Kootenay Toy Run and the Rossland Firefighters’ Christmas toy collection.

Our Auxiliary donates to or hosts events to benefit community members (many of whom are children) who are suffering from a variety of serious medical issues.  We also raise funds and awareness for charities, locally and provincially, including BC Children’s Fund, Diabetes, Alzheimer’s, BC Cancer Fund, Spinal Cord Injuries, Muscular Dystrophy, and BC Heart & Stroke Fund.

We participate in the Remembrance Day Ceremony and lend a hand at the Over 65 Christmas Dinner, events which are hosted by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #14 and Auxiliary each year.

We promote social activities for our members and their families, including our annual Family Picnic on Father’s Day, Auxiliary Christmas party, and Children’s Christmas Party.  Golf events, dances, cake raffles, dinners, and other events that have been held are wonderful times for our members and their guests to get together, catch up on each others’ lives, and have some fun!

Conventions, Conferences, and Zone Meetings are held across BC throughout the year, which gives the Brothers and Sisters from each Aerie and Auxiliary the opportunity to enjoy one another’s company, as well as, exchange information and ideas.  The East West Zone Conference was hosted by Rossland FOE #10 in April of this year.

Auxiliary meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month in the Rossland Eagles upper hall at 7 pm.  We follow an opening and closing ritual at each meeting and our motto is “For Home, For Country, and For God”.

We always welcome new members with their ideas and desire to Pay It Forward J  We invite everyone to visit our information table at the Craft Fair, which will be held on Sunday, November 27th, in the Rossland Eagles’ upper hall, from 10 am to 3 pm.  Anyone wishing more information may phone Noreen, Membership Chair, at 250-362-9070.
