The Great Canadian Roadtrip Rides Again - to Trail on Oct. 28

After three years of travelling across Canada together, Michelle Wright, Jason McCoy, and Doc Walker are putting the journey into song with “The Great Canadian Roadtrip Rides Again,” a new collaborative single arriving on Sept. 11 via Navigator Records ahead of the group’s upcoming national tour.
The tour will include an Oct. 28 performance at Trails Charles Bailey Theatre.
Inspired by the roads travelled, the stories shared and the audiences who have made The Great Canadian Roadtrip such a success, the song is a celebration of Canadian country music and the connection that happens when great artists and fans come together. Produced by Dave Wasyliw, the track features vocals from all four artists coming together once again to capture the spirit of the road.
“We’ve shared a lot of miles and memories over the last three years, so having a song that belongs to all four of us feels pretty special,” shared Michelle Wright, Jason McCoy, and Doc Walker in a joint statement. “‘The Great Canadian Roadtrip Rides Again’ is a snapshot of what this journey has meant to us, and we’re looking forward to sharing it with everyone who has been along for the ride.”
The new single arrives just as The Great Canadian Roadtrip prepares to return to stages across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario this fall. The intimate acoustic tour will bring Wright, McCoy, and Doc Walker together for evenings of songs, stories and stripped-back performances, continuing the journey that inspired the new track.
The artists behind The Great Canadian Roadtrip bring decades of Canadian country history to the stage. Since forming in 1994, Doc Walker has become one of Canada’s most decorated country groups, earning a JUNO Award, 14 CCMA Awards, and a long list of chart-topping singles and videos. Joining them is two-time CCMA Male Vocalist of the Year, Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame member, and reigning CCMA Personality of the Year Jason McCoy, whose career spans more than three decades as both a solo artist and frontman of The Road Hammers. Also taking the stage is five-time CCMA Female Vocalist of the Year Michelle Wright. A Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, she remains one of Canada’s most internationally recognized country stars. Across 12 albums, Wright has sold millions of copies worldwide and charted 20 Top Ten radio hits throughout her celebrated career.
