Search warrant yields firearms, drugs, cash and stolen property
A section of Highway 3-B between Rossland and Trail was closed for a few hours on June 26, 2025, because of a high-risk police investigation. To reduce the risk to the public, the Southeast District’s Emergency Response Team assisted in the operation and closed the highway.
The RCMP executed a search warrant on a property in Warfield, related to firearms offences. Investigators seized a significant quantity of suspected illegal drugs, over $40,000 in Canadian cash and other currencies, and twenty firearms. The officers also located and recovered stolen property, including two travel trailers, a Ford F-350 pick-up truck, two ATVs, and one motorcycle.
Five suspects were arrested, one of whom remains in police custody. Police are continuing to investigate and are considering several charges.
“We appreciate the patience of the traveling public while our officers undertook this high-risk operation”, says Cpl. James Grandy, BC RCMP spokesperson. “Trail and Greater District RCMP continue to work toward keeping the communities it serves safe for everyone.”
