Life Just Got a Bit Easier For Families in Downtown Rossland

Thanks to the efforts of the Family Action Network (FAN), and to the generosity and co-operation of  Patricia Marshall Thompson and City Hall, there are two newly-available family-friendly washrooms with infant-changing facilities in Rossland’s downtown area.

“Laundry Dog” laundromat  at 1960-B Columbia Avenue is the first private business to officially open its doors to people who need a washroom for those family emergencies, and it  is open from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm daily.

The other two “Easy Peezy” washrooms in Rossland, at the Rossland Public Library and at City Hall, are open only during the hours that the Library and City Hall, respectively, are open for business.

One fact we should all bear in mind: the Laundry Dog washroom is located in a private business, and belongs to that business.  It is private property; there are costs of maintaining it;  and the owner always has the right to deny access.  In fact, the other locations also have the right to exclude anyone who abuses the privilege of using their facilities.

Let’s appreciate and respect these accomplishments for our community.  And help keep them clean and welcoming.

Congratulations and thanks  to our Library, City Hall, and Laundry Dog for making Rossland a more appealing and convenient  place to be.
