The Clothesline Event is once again coming to Trail, according to RCMP Cpl. Darryl Orr.

“On April 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., members of the Trail & Greater District RCMP will be attending the Clothesline Event being held outside of Ferrarro Foods in Trail,” Orr said. “The goal of the event is to bring awareness to the community about the issue of violence against

women.

“Survivors of violence paint tee-shirts with messages about their experiences and personal

stories, which are hung from clotheslines for the public to see.”

Orr said Ferraro Foods are sponsoring this event and free hotdogs and beverages are being served at the location.

“Violence against women affects us all by impacting the safety and well being our mothers,

grandmothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, partners and friends,” Orr added. “The Trail & Greater RCMP are encouraging the community to support and attend this important event.”
