Warning: Thieves Operating Locally

The RCMP are warning residents that thieves are stealing change and anything else they can find inside unlocked vehicles. Thefts have been reported in the Miral Heights subdivision in Trail recently, and late last Friday night a Warfield resident saw 3 men who seemed to be wearing headlamps get out of a pick-up truck and enter a neighbour’s yard. When the resident shouted at them, they left hastily.
Thefts have been relatively rare in Rossland, but they do happen. Police point out that it’s easy to discourage the most casual thieves by making sure to take eveything of value out of vehicles and to lock them up. Similarly, ensure that nothing of value is left accessible in the yard or carport, and always lock your home.
