Mount Sentinel Wildcats enter provincials ranked third overall

The Mount Sentinel Wildcats are seeded third entering the upcoming BC High School A Boy’s Volleyball Championships beginning Thursday at Abbotsford Christian in the Fraser Valley.

The Wildcats advanced to the 12-team tournament by posting a straight set victory over Salmo Falcons in the best-of-five West Kootenay Final.

“We won their zone convincingly and have played well all season long to be ranked third in the province behind Host Abbotsford Christian and (second ranked) Credo Christian (of Smithers),” said Mount Sentinel coach Glen Campbell.

Mount Sentinel is in a pool with top ranked Credo Christian of Smithers, Kelowna Christian, Carver Christian of Burnaby, Chemainus of Vancouver Island and East Kootenay rep, Fernie Falcons.

Teams play a round robin draw Thursday and Friday before beginning playoffs later Friday.

The semi finals are set for Saturday before the tournament championship at 5:15 p.m.

First game for the Wildcats is 10:15 a.m Thursday against Chemainus.
