Who played Jack Sparrow in The Pirates of the Caribbean? What is the chemical symbol for gold? If you answered ‘Johnny Depp’ and ‘Ag’, then this Friday night it’s time to release your inner pirate and swagger over to the Miner’s hall where there’ll be booty galore available at “The Price Is Jeopardy Or No Deal Of Fortune”.
A team-based trivia event, TPIJONDOF is a fundraiser for two great causes: Rossland Radio Co-Op (101.1 FM) and the Johan Kruus Foundation. Proceeds from the $10 entry fee will be split between those two entities. According to organizer Phil Loosley, the evening will consist of “rounds of trivia questions mixed with team and individual games. And there will be a licensed bar running.”.
And lots of prizes. Lots. The event’s organizers have already collected well in excess of a thousand dollars’ worth of rewards for successful trivia buffs, including gems like a day of cat skiing with Big Red Cats.
As noted above, the event will be team-based, so the organizers hope you’ll get together between six and ten of your closest and most trivial friends and make an evening of it. If you don’t have quite enough people or if you’re only one or two people, show up anyway: organizers promise they’ll do their best to slot you into an existing team.
A final word of warning: this is a 19+ event, so unfortunately you’ll have to leave your brood of precocious, over-educated, smarter-than-you children at home.
