Under the general supervision of the SRC Coordinator and the Head Librarian, the Student Assistant is responsible for assisting the Coordinator with running the Summer Reading Program.  The successful candidate must be a High School student.  An imaginative approach and an understanding of children’s programming are essential.  The successful candidate should demonstrate an appreciation of children’s needs and must be able to motivate and work co-operatively with others.  Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and knowledge of Internet, and library automation and cataloguing is a definite asset.
