Bringing you Burlesque: performances, workshops, courses
For one night only, Queen City Burlesque Expo and Trail Arts Council is proud to present its Saturday Night Showcase at The Bailey Theatre on Saturday, April 11.
Featuring Canadian Icons Bettina May and Jezebel Express and starring the reigning Queen of The Burlesque Hall of Fame (New Orleans) herself, Jessabelle Thunder, this award-winning production welcomes performers from across North America and the UK to be part of an unforgettable night of live entertainment.
Step into a world where glamour meets grit and old-world vaudeville collides with contemporary edge. From big-top magic and variety tease to breathtaking burlesque, you’ll experience a body-positive, self-expressive art form that celebrates all shapes, sizes, and identities. Expect sparkling costumes, bold characters, and heart-thumping music as each act invites you to laugh, gasp, and cheer.
Whether you’re a longtime fan or brand-new to burlesque, this show is designed to delight, inspire, and remind you just how powerful it can be when we take up space, tell our own stories, and let ourselves be seen.
Make it a night with our $51 VIP tickets with premium seating and a swag bag full of fun and surprising gifts or buy a $32 regular admission ticket.
Tickets for this show are made accessible through our Scarlet Mary Rose / Community Access card pricing of $17.
As part of the Showcase we will be putting on a series of unique and fun workshops from our performers, starting with award-winning neo burlesque performer, Déjà Louve’s, “Bare Basics: Burlesque Intensive” on Friday, March 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Dive deep as you explore the rich history of burlesque and learn sassy moves to take home and to the stage. Just $50 for a two-day workshop!
Warming you up for the main event on Saturday, April 11, we have a series of one-hour, $25, workshops teaching you specialist performance skills.
From 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., internationally celebrated Jezebel Express teaches “Unforgettable You: Cultivating a unique onstage persona” where you will discover strategies for creating a character-specific dance vocabulary, stepping outside your comfort zone and identifying the ways we present ourselves to the audience
Then LA showstopper Jessabelle Thunder’s “Musicalitease” gives you tips and tricks on how to add a bit more pizazz to your act and leave audiences stunned through dance moves from 12 – 1 p.m.
Rounding out the pre-show workshops is Bettina May, just back from a three-year Las Vegas performance residency. Here she will be teaching the magic of classic pin-up posing in “Strike a Pose” from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.
Please be advised that this show and these workshops feature Mature Content and Nudity.
