The Rossland Winter Carnival is ON!
The Rossland Winter Carnival Society is pleased to confirm that, after final weather-related discussions with our partners at the City of Rossland, the 2025 Rossland Winter Carnival is going ahead as planned (January 22 – 25, 2026), including the beloved Sonny Samuelson Bobsled Race, with a modified course due to current snow conditions in the community.
Despite a challenging winter for snowpack – with a special thanks to the dedication of our City of Rossland Public Works crews – the event organizers and volunteers have worked closely together to plan for a safe and exciting Carnival weekend. The bobsled race will proceed on Saturday with a lowered start line at Spokane Street and Upper Planer/Turner, allowing racers and spectators to safely enjoy this iconic event while adapting responsibly to conditions.
In addition to the bobsled race, a full schedule of Winter Carnival events is a go. For all the details, go to:

collaborating, and showing up for community,” says the Rossland Winter Carnival Society. “The
heart of Carnival is alive and well; we are so grateful to our event partners, community sponsors,
volunteers, and neighbours for their continued support.”
