The VISAC Gallery is pleased to invite residents and visitors to join them in kicking off a stunning exhibit, reflecting the mountain heart of the Kootenays, “Within the White Sphere”. This show features the photography of Rossland’s Taylor Clark and will be on display at the VISAC January 12 to February 12. A community reception to launch the show will be held January 15 from 5-7 pm at the VISAC Gallery. Entrance is under the red awning at 1501 Cedar Avenue. Everyone is welcome!

Within the White Sphere is a photographic exploration of the Red Mountain Ski Patrol—those who quietly move through shadowed dawns, wind-lashed ridgelines, and avalanche paths in service of mountain safety. This series pulls back the veil on a rarely seen world: where risk is routine, beauty can be brutal, and the line between control and chaos is etched in layers of unstable snow.

Through a combination of stark landscape, candid portraiture, and action-infused frames, Within the White Sphere captures the physical and emotional weight of stewardship in extreme environments. These images are not just about the work—they are about devotion, presence, and the heartbeat of a mountain community held together by those willing to walk into the storm.

Photographer Clark states, “My intent is to capture the raw energy of adventure and the quiet power of mountain environments. I’m drawn to moments of motion, grit, and stillness—where human presence meets vast, untamed landscapes. Through this work, I aim to evoke both the physical intensity and spiritual depth of time spent in these wild places.

VISAC warmly thanks Exhibit Sponsor Red Mountain Resort for their support for this show.
