Music in the Park ends the season with a fun program of events and activities at The Night Market
Join the Trail & District Arts Council and Trail’s Incredible Farmers Market on Aug. 15 for an entertaining evening of food vendors, market, beer and wine garden, and live music at The Night Market in Gyro Park from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
The music will kick off at 6 p.m. as the Maritime Kitchen Party (MKP) brings the energy of the Nova Scotia tradition to every show with foot-stomping Celtic music and Canadiana! Playing traditional tunes, Great Big Sea, Stompin’ Tom, Blue Rodeo. Tragically Hip with originals, rock, country, and more, everyone will want to join the party! They have opened for, or played with, some great artists including Blue Rodeo, Great Big Sea, Econoline Crush, The Sheepdogs and many more.
Then from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m., Stubbs and The with their spontaneous show for the whole family.
Rooted in Rossland, this five-piece started playing crowd-pleasing covers before discovering their independent original and theatrical music. The band is driven to push the limits of what you like in music, with elements that mix silliness with genuine authenticity. With lyrics in 10 different languages, and a track-list that defies labelling under traditional genres, the audience can’t help but join in the fun!
To add to the evening’s experience, Rhythm by Nature will be running fully interactive and immersive 15-minute drumming workshops at 5:15 p.m., 5:45 p.m., and 7 p.m. Set free your inner rhythm as you experiment with different drums and drumming techniques. No drumming experience needed and all the instruments are provided.
And don’t forget, our Night Market allows you to picnic, shop, and dance the night away. Enjoy a range of tasty cooling treats and delicious eats as you browse the stalls. Then refresh your tastebuds at the Beer and Wine Garden as they serve up cold beverages, including cider and sodas.
So, bring a lawn chair and don’t forget to bring plenty of water. Need to cool off? The music is right by the water park and the river!
Admission is by donation – $3 minimum suggested.
