The Basin Food and Buyers Expo (FABx) has connected regional food producers and buyers since 2018.

Funded mainly by Columbia Basin Trust (CBT), this event is organized by local food aficionado Shauna Fidler.

The Expo for food buyers and producers emerged from a CBT Agriculture forum that aimed to determine the unique needs of our area.

The event has evolved over time and now includes an open element where the public can sample and shop a wide array of the best food and drink our region offers.

This year’s event is happening on November 3rd and 4th in Creston. Food producers, buyers, and foodies are welcome to sign up for the event.

“There is no bigger selection of regional food than our marketplace,” says Fidler.

This year’s Expo features an art exhibition and competition in collaboration with West Kootenay Arts. Artists are encouraged to create a piece around the theme of food packaging.

Hall Printing Daily Dose reporter Ari Lord give The Nelson  Daily readers an in-depth look at the upcoming fall Expo.
