The Castlegar & District Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce a huge funding announcement from the federal and provincial governments that means we will be able to move ahead with plans for a new $5 million multi-use, Passive House certified, Mass Timber building, that will operate with 85% reduced emissions.

This L-shaped building, located adjacent to our present building, will be an incredible, iconic and legacy community space fueled by community, corporate and government support. However, we still

have some work to do, as we have $1.5 million left to raise before we break ground in summer of 2022.

The Confluence will be a 7,000-square-foot building that will house the Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development, Destination Castlegar, the West Kootenay Gateway Visitor Centre and a satellite branch of Community Futures. It will also include co-working spaces, a large collective space

for community events or gatherings, tech charging stations, boardroom, meeting and office spaces for rent and will be accessible for public use.

We are thrilled to announce this opportunity for you to be part of creating a legacy for the Castlegar and District and region. Every bit of support helps us to create this iconic space. All donations over $100 are eligible for placement on our donor wall following completion of the building and will be eligible for a tax receipt. Tiering will be in place for various levels of donation. If you would like to discuss different opportunities, such as corporate donations or our buy a room options, please contact us directly.

Thank-you for your interest and consideration of support for this incredible new public space.

Thank you,

Tammy Verigin-Burk, Executive Director
