Welcome back -- to the Rossland Public Libary

As of June 23, a limited number – 10 library patrons at any one time – will be able to enter the Rossland Public Library from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, to browse the shelves and borrow books, movies and magazines.
The washrooms will not be available yet, neither will seating or computers.
Patrons will be able to print from their own devices – without standing outside the building to do so.
Library “take-out” will continue, with patrons coming into the library to pick up their bags of books.

The library closed on March 17, 2020, to assist in slowing the spread of COVID-19 in the community. Since then, it has offered online services, and starting on May 12, a holds collection service – or “library take-out.”
Protocols are now in place to minimize the likelihood of disease transmission – including limiting the number of patrons in the library at one time to 10, requiring everyone entering the building to use the hand sanitizer, quarantining returned materials for 72 hours before re-shelving, keeping the washrooms closed, and having no access to computers and seating. Children under 12 must stay with their parents. Patrons must have their library cards with them to borrow materials.
“Things will certainly be different now, but patrons have been asking when they can come inside,” said Director Beverley Rintoul, “and the staff is excited to see our patrons again.”
Continuing to respect social distancing, wearing masks, and following the other protocols set out to protect everyone will help ensure that we can continue to safely re-open facilities such as the library. Thank you, library staff!
