For kids: on Saturday, April 20th, the Museum is hosting its Annual Easter Egg Hunt starting at around noon, a family movie (“Mary Poppins Returns”) at 1:30 pm, and “Easter Science activities in the Discovery Zone” starting at 3:00 pm. To participate, please let them know you’re coming, at http://evite.me/VQwAbUfQ4F
Here’s an interesting bit of the Museum’s history: it was first established by the Rossland Rotary Club in the basement of the Rossland Court House in 1954, as the Rossland Historical Museum & Archives Association, and was incorporated under the BC Societies Act in March of 1955. The present museum was built on the site of the Black Bear Mine in 1967 as a Canadian Centennial project.
For fun and inexpensive entertainment: PLEASE NOTE – the next Joe Hill Coffeehouse is on April 28. Notices in some other places give various other dates which are WRONG – Please ignore them. The correct date is April 28. Mark your calendars!

Cleaning up! Local teacher Jess Foster at RSS has an Environmental Stewardship class, who are doing community service works on Friday afternoons. She says, “If you see youth out there picking up garbage or poop, sweeping, tidying public areas, please give them a high-five, a smile or encouragement.”
We say, give all that and a bunch of gratitude too. And then please do your best to ensure that there won’t be so much doggie poop and garbage out there that needs to be picked up.
Foster also says that one of the ideas for the class is to “help our seniors in some way. If you know a senior who needs a hand with something, please contact me: jfoster@sd20.bc.ca”
AND on April 20, starting at noon, Rosslanders can enjoy the Earth Day Market on Queen Street, beside the Nelson and District Credit Union.
