Firefighters/police help person on bridge

Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue (KBRFR) was once again called out for a situation in which a person was potentially trying to harm themselves.

Acting Cpt. Rick Morris said the call came in at 11:13 p.m., and four Trail firefighters were at the Victoria Street Bridge by 11:25 p.m.

“(A) person (was) on Victoria Street Bridge standing on the outside of the walkway over the river and holding on to a rail,” Morris said. “Maine Rescue 374 was launched at the Gyro Park boat launch. Station 374 crew was stood down after the person was takin into custody by the RCMP on the bridge.”

Police are investigating the incident.
