Nakusp RCMP said in a media release Monday a vehicle may have been located in regards to a missing person file from Revelstoke.

The file started Thursday, August 3 at 12:47 p.m. when Nakusp RCMP received a report that 29-year-old Jared Szabo was missing after the Revelstoke resident failed to arrive the previous evening.

Szabo, 29, described as 6-foot, 177 pounds with brown hair and eyes, was last seen on (Tuesday) August 1, in Beaton, BC.

Szabo is associated to a 2004 white Dodge Ram pick-up truck BC license EL4618. Extensive air searches and ground searches have been conducted in the Beaton area including searches of the Fish River.

Monday, Nakusp RCMP confirmed that through the course of the search this weekend, a vehicle similar to that of Szabo was located in the Fish River along with fresh signs of a vehicle leaving the road on the Fish River Rd.

Due to the high-water conditions SAR Swift Water technicians are unable to reach the submerged vehicle.

Szabo remains as missing.
