Cpl Dan Moskaluk said in a media release Friday, a team of RCMP investigators are continuing their investigation into last Saturday’s interface fire which occurred in the Okanagan Centre Rd area of Lake Country.

Moskaluk said a dedicated tip line has been set up to encourage anyone with information to contact police.

“At this time we are treating this fire as suspicious and believe it to be human caused,” Moskaluk said.

“As is the case with many investigations it is information from the public that solves them. In order to encourage anyone with information to come forward, we have set up a dedicated tip line for this investigation.”

The Lake Country RCMP are continuing their investigation of the July 15, 2017 interface fire which saw  emergency personnel and BC Wildfire Management personnel respond to a large fire on Okanagan Centre Road in Lake Country, BC.  As a result of the fast spreading fire, numerous homes/buildings were destroyed.

“Resources from Lake Country, Kelowna and the South East District area have been pooled to conduct an in-depth investigation and fully determine the cause of the fire,” Moskaluk said.

Anyone with information about this fire or any suspicious activity in the area, are asked to please contact the RCMP at 250 707 8025.
