UPDATED: Snowfall Warning leaves Kootenay/Boundary region with major cleanup

While the snowfall warning has been rescinded, Environment Canada is continuing an snow alert for Highway 3 from the Paulson Pass through to the Elk Valley, which includes the Kootenay Pass from Salmo to Creston.

“The low pressure system that brought heavy snow to the Kootenays will move east of the area today. Snow will continue to ease through the day with additional amounts of 5 to 10 cm expected.”

The alert said snow will continue today and tonight over the Elk Valley and Kootenay Pass with additional amounts of 15 to 25 cm.
