Rossland Legion helps Scouts with camping essentials

Joanne Drystek, President, and John Walmsley, Charities Chairperson of the Rossland Legion, presented the Rossland 2nd Scouts with a cheque for $250 to purchase backpacks and stoves for camping trips. That should helpl them learn how to pack their packs, go for a trek to get out in the hills, set up camp and — hopefully — cook on those new stoves without scorching their dinners. A hint to the Scouts about cooking on campstoves: stir! Stir! Stir until it’s done. But be sure to do the hike first; food always tastes better when you’ve been hiking.
