Traffic Fatality Near Rock Creek

West Kootenay Traffic Services reported Tuesday that a crash on Highway 3 east of Rock Creek at about 3:45 pm (the date was not specified, but the report was received early on October 4) took the life of the driver of one vehicle and resulted in serious injuries to the other driver, who was airlifted to Kelowna General Hospital.
The crash happened near Meyers Road, east of Rock Creek.
Two vehicles were involved, and the highway was closed for several hours. A Collison Reconstructionist was called to examine the scene, and West Kootenay Traffic Services and the Coroner’s Office are working together to determine the cause of the deadly crash.
No names will be released until the deceased’s next of kin are notified and the injured driver’s family have given permission.
