Thanks to local police, who just dropped off at his home the man who was missing, according to his son-in-law. Our warmest congratulations to both his family and our local RCMP.

Previous coverage:

This is from Cpl. Devon Reid, of the Trail RCMP, and picture is, as yet not available:

On 2016-July-15, a 67-year-old male from Rossland went missing near Maldie Creek Forest Service Road while berry picking. The missing male is Don Ellison. He is 6’1″ tall with grey hair and blue eyes.

Ellison was wearing a blue and white checkered flannel shirt, blue jeans and hiking boots and was carrying a berry collecting bucket. Ellison wears glasses and has two hearing aids as well.

Ellison suffers from dementia, so he may appear confused and may not know where he is.

Ellison was last seen in the wooded area near 150 Ross Road in Rossland, BC at approximately 12 p.m.

Local RCMP as well as Search and Rescue teams have been searching for Ellison throughout the day and the search will continue on Saturday, July 16.

Police are asking that the public be on the lookout for Ellison and call 911 or the Trail RCMP if he is located.
