UPDATE: Coroner releases name of ATV fatality
The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died following an ATV incident near Castlegar on June 11.
She was Nicole Anne Rodrigues, 32, of Castlegar.
Rodrigues was the operator of an ATV that was travelling on the Gladstone Forest Service Road about 40 kilometres from Castlegar on the afternoon of June 11, when she lost control and went down an eight-metre embankment. When she did not meet up with a fellow rider as planned, he began searching for her. She was found the next morning, pinned under her ATV.
She was deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death. Rodrigues’s family has been notified of her death.

On June 12 at 11:07 a.m. the Castlegar RCMP received a report of a serious All Terrain Vehicle incident approximately 14 km north of Deer Park, which is outside of Castlegar.
Officers attended the scene and learned that a 32-year-old Castlegar woman was killed when the ATV she was driving overturned, pinning her underneath.
Search and Rescue was called out to assist in the recovery of the deceased.
The RCMP are continuing to investigate as the cause of the incident is not known at this time so no further details are available at this time.
