RDCK Board adopts management plans for three parks
The Regional District of Central Kootenay has adopted management plans for three area parks — Crescent Valley Beach, Waterloo Eddy and Pass Creek.
The plans were given the rubber stamp by the Board and are ready to implement, the RDCK announced Wednesday
“The process to engage the public, collect feedback and draft the plans began in the fall of 2014,” said Sangita Sudan, General Manager of Development Services, in a media release.
“The RDCK commends residents for taking an active role in sharing their vision for their public spaces. We are also grateful to Juliet Anderson and Ecoscape Environmental, the consultants who guided the process and crafted the documents.”
The management plans will guide the operations, development and stewardship of the parks over the next decade.

Crescent Valley Beach Regional Park Management Plan
- Improve parking conditions
- Keep the park clean
- No dogs on beach
- Support river sports
- Environmental stewardship
Pass Creek Regional Park Management Plan
- Develop the park as a valued community asset
- Improve the quality of park facilities
- Protect the park’s natural environment and wildlife habitat
- Maintain trails and enhance trail connections
- Support equestrian users
Waterloo Eddy Regional Park Management Plan
- Improve access for fisherman and improve parking
- Protect the river
- Value park trails and plan for trail connections
- Improve signage
The Crescent Valley Regional Park is located north of the Highway 3A/6 junction in South Slocan, is along the Slocan River.
The Waterloo Eddy Regional Park is a 3.3 hectare waterfront park is along the eastern shores of Columbia River, south of Castlegar while the Pass Creek Regional is located near Castlegar.
