Rossland City Council held a special meeting on Friday, September 18, to hear and consider comments from residents about the sewer pipe bridge proposal, and to pass a resolution about its funding.  Eight residents appeared, one of whom just wanted to inform the City about a large wasp nest in the ground beside the footpath below Ferraro’s.

Council passed the resolution to approve the funding, and then announced that the date of the design charette for the Washington  Street upgrade project must be postponed until  Wednesday, September 30.

The charette will be held in the Gallery in the old Bank of Montreal building, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.

There will be a presentation at 6:00, followed by a question-and-answer session.

Judging by the proposed surface design layout in the Council materials, the new Washington Street will be safer for school children and other pedestrians and cyclists, and for drivers too.  But don’t take my word for it — go have a look on September 30.
