The Rossland Council for Arts and Culture has an exciting series of performances lined up for 2015/16! This marks the eleventh year of the Performance Series, the goal of which is to bring high quality arts performances to Rossland. When RCAC selects performances for the series we focus on artistic excellence, diversity of genres, affordability and supporting a mix of emerging and established Canadian and international artists. These factors combine to create unforgettable evenings of music and entertainment.

”We are very happy to be able to continue to bring in high calibre programming that would not otherwise be available in our community,” says Theshini Naicker, chair of the RCAC Performance Series committee. “We believe that experiencing the arts enhances the quality of life for residents of Rossland, attracts new residents and tourists, inspires community members to develop their own artistic talents, and enables Canadian performers to tour the rural areas of British Columbia.” This year the Series will feature four eclectic performances by artists from across the country and from abroad. It is going to be a season that you don’t want to miss!

The performances being presented are:
Saturday, Sept. 26/15- Gabriel Palatchi Trio (Argentina) – An original blend of cultures that features Latin Jazz, Tango, Middle East, Funk and more

Saturday, Oct. 24/15- John Welsh Band (Mission, BC)- Blending elements of Folk, Surf Rock, Reggae, and Latin music

Saturday, Nov. 14/15- Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra (Vancouver, BC)- Bluegrass, and Roots music with influences from Flamenco and African percussion

Friday, Jan. 22/16- Remi Bolduc Jazz Ensemble (Montreal, QC)- A magical evening of Jazz music in tribute to Dave Brubeck

All performances take place at the Rossland Miners Hall, doors open at 7:00pm and shows start at 7:30pm. Tickets are $20 and available at Out of the Cellar in Rossland, and at the Charles Bailey Theatre Box Office in Trail. RCAC members receive $2 off performance tickets.
