The awards just keep coming in for a small business in Kaslo.

Thanks to the many fans of the product who voted online, Kaslo Sourdough Pasta ‘Pasta Fementata’ won the Public Voting for the Nexty Award. (Final results are now listed on their website: http://www.nextforecast.com/nexty.)

The Kaslo Sourdough prodcut finished with the most overall votes.

The owners are excited to attend the awards ceremony held at the Natural Products Expo East in Baltimore in September to receive the honour.

In March Kaslo Sourdough exhibited in the largest Natural Foods Expo in the world in Anaheim, California.

“This was a huge event with over 3000 companies mainly from North America and even some European,” said owner Silvio Lettrari.

The Kaslo Sourdough team recently returned from the FoodProWest – “Taste of Success” Conference hosted by the British Columbia Food Processors Association and were honoured to win the Innovation Award and also Bronze for Product of the Year Award for our ‘Pasta Fermentata’.

“Competing on the world stage and now on the provincial level against other high class food manufacturers and even winning has been a thrilling experience,” Lettrari explained.

“Our belief, devotion and passion, coupled with your support over the years has culminated in a product out of the Kootenay’s that is worthy to be proud of for the whole region.”

“‘Pasta Fermentata’ is getting acknowledged for its revolutionary new way of applying sourdough technology,” Lettrari adds. “We are being recognized for the World’s first Sourdough Pasta.”
