Castlegar man arrested for Trail stabbing
A 38-year-old Castlegar man is in jail awaiting court after a stabbing in a west Trail residence on Wednesday.
According to Trail RCMP Sgt. Rob Hawton, police received a call at roughly 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 18.
“Two individuals got into an argument, which escalated into a fight, which resulted in one stabbing the other with a knife,” he said.
Hawton was unable to indicated whether substance abuse was a factor or what kind of knife was employed, but said the victim, also 38-years-old, is a Trail resident. No one else was in the residence at the time of the incident.
He said the assailant was arrested outside the home and could be facing a laundry list of charges including assault causing bodilty harm and assault with a weapon.
