The Midsummer’s Night Party at the Museum is Wednesday, July 31 from 5:00-9:00pm.  Join the Rossland Historical Museum for an evening of live music, dancing, and a barbeque.  Have your fortune told or sell or buy some quality items at their jumble sale. There will also be plenty of games for kids.

The Gold Fever Follies annual summer production is running on Tuesdays through Saturdays with shows at 3:00pm and 7:30pm.  The famous summer theatre production is located in the historic Miners Hall, located at 1765 Columbia Ave.   The Naughty Knickers night is on August 18th.   More details coming soon!

The last Gold Fever Follies camp is the “Physical Theatre Workshop” camp and it runs August 12 to the 16.  This camp will have students learning to create a theatre piece using dance, mime and mask techniques.  At the end of the workshop there will be a small performance showing an original story that includes mask work, mime, music and dance.

There are still a few spots left in the Rossland Art Camp at the end of August, from the 19-23.  This camp runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm each day for kids 8-12 years of age.  The course focusses on multimedia art, including; drawing, painting, sculptures and puppets.  As the week progresses the kids will use all of these pieces to create digital movies.  Instructed by Shelley Painter the kids will create and edit stop-action and regular short movies, complete with titles, sound effects and music.

The Family Swim time at the Rossland Pool is from 4:00-5:30pm during the months of July and August.   If you have young children it’s one of the nicest ways to end a hot summer day, before the demands of dinner and bedtime routines.  The Rossland Pool has season’s passes available to make things even easier!  Contact the Rossland Pool at,   250-362-5455 or the Recreation Department for more information.   Season’s passes to the Rossland Pool are 50% off now, as the summer slips into its final month.  Adult passes are now $35.00, kids passes are $25.00, Family passes are $70.00 and a Senior / Youth pass is $30.00.

The Rossland Pool is offering evening lap swim this summer.  The days of the week and times of day change between June and July, so if you’re interested in evening lap swim, please take note of the times and dates that are posted on the chalkboard facing Columbia Ave.  We’ll post weekly updates on the board every week to make sure you know when you can come and enjoy the evening lap swim.

If you have an infant, toddler or preschool child, the Aqua Tot classes run twice a week at the Rossland Pool.   This half hour class is from 11:30-12:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and runs 8 weeks until August 22.  Cost is $2 drop-in for pass holders and $3 for non-pass holders. Aqua Tots is a fun, social time for parents and little ones.  Lessons will cover buoyancy, movement, floating, gliding and swimming skills while enjoying active water play.  If you’re a regular, we’ll keep track of your progress as your little one works through the Red Cross Preschool swim skills and we’ll present you with a report card for each level completed.
