The cast of the Gold Fever Follies have lots of great summer theatre camps for kids in the next few weeks!  From July 22 to July 26 the cast is running the “Gleeful Camp” which will feature popular songs and dance moves to impress the friends and family.

From July 29 to August 2 the cast is offering the “Theatre Jam” camp which will have kids exploring different ways to tell stories, brainstorm ideas and create a short play.  The last camp is the “Physical Theatre Workshop” camp and it runs August 12 to the 16.  This camp will have students learning to create a theatre piece using dance, mime and mask techniques.  At the end of the workshop there will be a small performance showing an original story that includes mask work, mime, music and dance.  Most of the Follies Camps run in the mornings but please contact the Recreation Department for the specifics of each camp.

There are still a few spots left in the Rossland Art Camp at the end of August, from the 19-23.  This camp runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm each day for kids 8-12 years of age.  The course focusses on multimedia art, including; drawing, painting, sculptures and puppets.  As the week progresses the kids will use all of these pieces to create digital movies.  Instructed by Shelley Painter the kids will create and edit stop-action and regular short movies, complete with titles, sound effects and music.
