A Washington State driver was taken to hospital by BC Ambulance Thursday morning as a result of a two-vehicle accident at the junction of Highway 3A and 6 in South Slocan.

The accident happened at approximately 7:30 a.m.

A newer model Ford 150, four-door pickup truck carrying four men to work from Nelson was travelling west on Highway 3A when a smaller Toyota Tacoma heading east on the same road attempted to turn onto Highway 6.

The collision left both vehicles in the ditch on the northwest side of the intersection.

The Washington State driver was taken to Kootenay Lake Hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.

The four men were shook up but look to have no injuries as a result of the accident.

Both trucks suffered extensive damage to their respective front ends.

Commuter traffic from the Slocan Valley was slowed due to the accident.

Crescent Valley Fire Department, RCMP and BC Ambulance attended the scene.

RCMP continue to investigate the accident.
