Police release name of victim in weekend's fatal accident
Police are now able to confirm that Aurora Wright, 18, was the victim of a devastating two-vehicle accident in Pass Creek Saturday.
Aurora is the sibling of Jessie Wright, 19, whose remarkable story of being lost for five days in the forest with only a hoodie, in wintertime, then being found alive and well on the fifth day of the search, capitivated many area residents back in February of this year.
West Kootenay Traffic Services Cpl. John Ferguson said alcohol was not a factor in Saturday’s fatal crash.
“We’re definitely looking at speed and distracted driving as factors,” he said, adding the family of three sent to hospital after the accident were released later that same day.
He said the husband and wife had non-life-threatening injuries, while their two-year-old son was unharmed.
