A Trail man will be facing charges for trafficking cocaine, according to Crime Reduction Unit Cpl. Darryl Orr.

“On April 13 at 2:30 a.m., members of the Trail Crime Reduction Unit arrested a 32-year-old male for Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act,” he said.

“The male was stopped in a vehicle by Crime Reduction Unit members shortly after leaving a local bar. Approximately four grams of Cocaine and $490 in cash was seized during the suspect’s arrest.”

Orr said it was not a routine traffic stop.

“We’d been watching him,” he said.

The man will appear in Rossland court on June 6.

“The Trail and Castlegar Crime Reduction Units continue to aggressively pursue street level drug dealers in Trail and Castlegar,” Orr concluded.

“Anyone with any information about drug trafficking is urged to call the police or anonymously at Crime Stoppers.”
