Balfour teen found, safe and sound, after a week missing
Police have found another missing teen, safe and sound, according to Nelson RCMP Cpl. Michael Stefani.
“On Feb. 20, Nelson RCMP reported a missing youth, 14-year-old Sheldon Hicks from the Nelson area,” Stefani said in a press release this morning. “On Feb. 27, just after 6 p.m., Nelson RCMP received a call from Sheldon’s mother that Sheldon had been located.
“Mrs. Snyder received a tip earlier and followed up, locating Sheldon just west of Nelson,” he explained. “Const. Dan Markevic from the Integrated Road Safety Unit attended and spoke with Sheldon and his mother. Sheldon was reluctant to discuss where he had been, but said he was fine, and returned home with his mother.”
Police aren’t indicating where the tip came from.
“Nelson RCMP would like to thank everyone who put up posters, called in tips, and generated information on Sheldon’s whereabouts,” Stefani concluded.
