The BC Coroners Service confirmed the identity of a man who was found deceased in a Rosemont residence Friday (February 1) by friends as Andrew John Meisner, aged 33, of Nelson.

Two friends found Meisner when they went to check on the Nelsont resident after they had been unable to reach him for some hours.

He was deceased at the scene and is believed to have died the previous day.

The Coroners Service and Nelson City RCMP continue to investigate this death. Foul play has now been ruled out.

Upon arrival police originally suspected that a clandestine lab may have been active within the home and called in the RCMP “E” Division Response Team for Clandestine Labs from Vancouver to dispose of the drug lab.

The team arrived Saturday evening and spent most of Sunday disposing of the operation.

However, the RCMP “E” Division Response Team found nothing found in the house that had to do with a suspected “meth lab”.

Meisner’s parents has been notified of his death and are travelling to Nelson from the East Coast of Canada.
