According to RCMP Sgt. Rob Hawton, a fist fight escalated to weapon threats outside 7-11 Monday afternoon, leading to the arrest of two area men.

“On Jan. 14 at approximately 4 p.m., police were called to a fight outside of the 7-11 Store in Trail,” he said. “Two males, one in his late teens and the other in his late 20’s, got into a scuffle and then the first one allegedly pulled a knife. The other male then went to his vehicle to get a “bigger” knife.”

“A friend of the first suspect then convinced his friend to leave just prior to police arrival. The second suspect was arrested and later released on court documents. There were no injuries.”

Hawton said the parties who left have been identified and police are requesting anyone who witnessed the incident to call Trail & Greater District RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
