UPDATED: Two Calgary men face charges after robbery at Greenwood motel

Two Calgary men have been charged in the robbery of a Greenwood motel employee in the early hours of Monday, Dec. 17.
Charged with, forcible confinement, uttering threats, assault, break and enter, robbery and extortion are 26-year-old Charanjeet Singh Khosa and 28-year-old Ravinder Singh Mettla.
Both men, from Alberta, have been remanded in custody until Thursday, Dec. 20 when they will once again will be heard by the Judicial Justice of the Peace to determine their further detention or release pending appearance in court to answer to the above noted charges.
The incident happened at approximately 1:37 a.m. Monday when the two men tied up and robbed a motel clerk in Greenwood.
However, by 2 p.m. a grey Nissan Pathfinder was stopped by Grand Forks RCMP and two men, matching the description of the suspects in this case, were arrested.

According to Grand Forks RCMP staff sergeant Jim Harrison, the robbers did not use weapons but did use force during the robbery to contain the employee.
Police cannot release the names for the two accused until the charges have been formerly made and a bail hearing is held this evening. Police are not releasing the amount of money or goods stolen at this time, or the name of the motel involved.

Midway RCMP were called to the scene on Monday, Dec. 17 at 1:37 a.m. for a robbery and forcible confinement. The robbers, aged 26 and 28 had allegedly tied the woman up during the robbery but did not harm her, according to a police press release.
By 2 p.m. Grand Forks RCMP had stopped a grey Nissan Pathfinder that was being driven eastbound on Highway 3 by two men matching the description of the suspects in this case.
The police investigation is continuing with members from Midway, Grand Forks, Kootenay Boundary GIS and Forensic Identification Services working on the case.
