Dam Inn nips Hour Glass; Brewers win again in WKMFFL action

In what could be a preview to the West Kootenay Men’s Flag Football League Final, Dam Inn Mates returned to its winning ways by edging Nelson Hour Glaas 13-12 in a spirited affair Sunday at the Mount Sentinel High School Field.
League leading Mates entered the game against Hour Glass sporting its first loss of the season a week ago.
Dam Inn was prepared to return to the win column, but faced a stiff test from Hour Glass, second in the league.
But two touchdown passes by Nate Fedorchuk to Mark Goupil keyed the Mates to the narrow win.
Fedorchuk also had a pick on the defensive side of the ball for Dam Inn along with Goupil.
Richard Nixon sacked the Hour Glass quarterback during the game.
In the other contest, the Brewers continued to remain hot at the right time of the season by bouncing Castlegar Vikings 34-13.
The results sets up the first round of the playoffs Sunday at Mount Sentinel.
At 11 a.m. the Mates host the Castlegar Vikings while league runner-up Hour Glass faces the Brewers at 1 p.m.
The winners advance to the league final November 4 at Mount Sentinel. Game time is TBA.
