First annual Ride to Support Veterans Sunday
The West Kootenay Toy Run is just around the corner but those riders wanting to get a head start on the rest of the field check out the first annual Ride to Support Veterans Sunday beginning in Trail.
For a small fee of $20 per bike, motorcycle enthusiasts can have a little fun while raising funds for veterans needing treatment for trauma and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
Riders are asked to meet at the Trail Legion Branch in the Silver City Sunday at 9 a.m.
The route takes riders through Rossland, Castlegar, Nelson and Salmo before the trek concludes in Trail.
Riders can register and join up anywhere along the route or pre-register by emailing htruax@hotmail.ca
All proceeds benefit Veterans’ Transition Programs through Legion BC/Yukon Foundation.
Of course everyone is gearing up for the 25th annual West Kootenay Toy Run on Sunday, September 9.
The ride begins with registration, and a pancake breakfast compliments of the local Lion’s Club in Castlegar starting at 8 a.m. Registration is an unwrapped toy or $10, but toys are preferred.
