After guiding Rossland’s famous Joe Hill Coffee House for 35 wonderful shows, Michael Gifford is stepping out for a well-earned rest.  But Joe Hill lives on!

Joe Hill Coffee House is now being looked after by a team made up of Les Carter, Marti Hall, Kyle Buckley, and Dave Snider.  (It took four of us to replace Michael!)

We will not be creating a New Improved Joe Hill. We will simply carry on the great concept and format that Michael created and ran so well.

Joe Hill Coffee House is a place where local performers (music, dance, spoken word, whatever your talent) can have the experience of appearing before an enthusiastic audience.  No auditions are required; performers sign up in advance, so they are guaranteed their 15 minutes of fame.

Joe Hill is a real coffee house, with an informal cafe setting, refreshments and goodies, and an evening of varied and interesting entertainment.  (Joe Hill attracts performers from all over ther West Kootenays; they love the keen audience and the great venue.)

Joe HIll Coffee House happens in the Rossland Miners’ Hall at 7:00 PM on the third Sunday of each month (except July and August).  It’s only $3, kids and students free.

The next Joe Hill coffee House will take place on June 17 at 7:00 PM.  We hope you will come!

There are still a few places for performers in the June 17 show, and we are also preparing our Fall line-up.  Get in touch, and we will put you on stage.

Joe Hill is run entirely by volunteers.  If you would like to be part of the fun of puttting on a show, give us a call.

You can contact Joe HIll Coffee House by phoning or e-mailing Les at 250-362-5677, retrac01@telus.net.
