Arcuri, Fullerton, Browell and Ellard earn spots on Zone One West Kootenay B.C. Summer Games golf team

Granite Pointe’s Carson Arcuri, Ryan Fullerton of Rossland/Trail, Trevor Browell of Champion Lakes and Kaslo’s Shawn Ellard all earned spots on the Zone One West Kootenay B.C. Summer Games Golf team as the junior circuit made a stop at Redstone Resort in Rossland.

The quartet qualified during the latest stop on the Zone One West Kootenay Golf tour with Ellard sneaking in the back door, defeating Champion Lakes golfer Aiden Browell in a play off to earn the fourth spot.

The BC Summer games allows players age 16 and under to try and qualify, provided they have not played the summer games tournament before.

Twenty-eight junior teed it up at Redstone under sunny skies for the 18-hole tournament Saturday.

Overall winner was Braden McKay of Rossland/Trail, his first ever overall Junior Circuit win. 

In the age categories MacKenzie Field of Christina Lake took first in the 17-18 division with Alex Rugg and Garrett Underwood deadlock in second. 

Tyler McKay, was first in the 15-16 year division with Fullerton second and Trevor Browell was third. 

In the 14 and under division, Arcuri took first while Jackson Konkin of Rossland/Trail a solid second at 88 and Browell placed third.

In the net division Ellard was first overall in the 15-18 and Jeff Ashton from Castlegar was first in the 14 and under division. 

Browell and Ryan Page from RTCC both won closest to the pin while Ashton and David Launier won long drives in their respective divisions.
