It’s popular to slay the dragon.

Now locals can ride the dragon Saturday (May 26) at Lakeside Park.

The Kootenay Rhythm Dragons would like to offer locals a chance to take a ride in the club’s boat.

“This is the team’s big “Thank You Nelson” for all the community support received for eight years. They are also recruiting new members for a second team,” said a team spokesperson.

From 10 a.m. to noon the public is welcome to head on down to Lakeside Park for a ride.

Coffee and muffins are being provided by the Grounded Coffee Shop.

There is a small fee of $5 to cover insurance for guest paddlers.

Paddles and life jackets are available for adults. Anyone under 19 should bring a parent and a life jacket.

The Kootenay Rhythm Dragons encourage the public to come ans see the fun and how easy it is to make that dragon fly across the water.
